Banyuatis Natural Trekking - Waterfall

This trek invites you to discover the landscapes and daily life of Banyuatis through a gentle walk across rice fields, plantations, and small village paths.
The experience begins with a short introduction in the car, where your guide explains the surrounding area — its altitude, the different crops grown here, and the way local communities live and work with the land.
The walk starts from the upper rice terraces before gradually descending through plantations of coffee, cloves, cacao and other local crops. Along the way, you will discover many plants and fruits and learn about their traditional uses — from banana flowers and lemongrass to guava, hibiscus, vanilla, avocado, coconut and more. A small tasting of local berries may also be part of the experience.
As you continue through the landscape, your guide shares insights about the different types of rice grown in Bali and Java, their colours, and the traditional harvesting methods still used today. You will also cross the river and learn about local beliefs, including the role of sacred cows, temple symbolism, ceremonies, and offerings that shape daily Balinese life.
Midway through the trek, a peaceful coffee break takes place at the home of a local family — friends of the guide — offering a beautiful setting to rest and share a moment with the community.
The walk then continues through village paths and plantations before reaching the waterfall itself, a place also used for meditation and ceremonies, with a small temple located above the falls. Swimming may be possible during the dry season, depending on conditions.
The return follows a short road path through the village and surrounding fields, with the option to finish the walk or be picked up by car.
The pace of the walk remains relaxed, allowing time to observe the landscape, learn about local life, and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Water, bananas, mosquito repellent and ponchos are provided for the trek.
